Soccer Team Ties, Tennis Team Loses

ImageThe Ephrata Mounts Soccer Team, despite out-shooting the Spartans from Garden Spot 28-6, ended up in 1-1 tie Tuesday night. Gardenspot's D. Reynolds scored a goal late (79:36) in the second half to tie the game, and after two overtime periods the score remained.

Ephrata scored their lone goal as CJ Wilson fed Paul McHenry. The goal was McHenry's fifth on the season which currently leads the Mounts.

ImageThe Ephrata Mounts Tennis Team saw their four match winning streak come to an end as they travelled into Neffsville to face the Manheim Township Blue Streaks.

The Blue Streaks, a perennial tennis powerhouse, proved too much for the Mounts once again, as they defeated Ephrata 5-2. The current Ephrata Mounts Athletes of the week however, were not to be denied on this night as Lily Sears and Megan Royer defeated Brittany Whiteside and Serena Wang 8-6 to improve their doubles record to 6-0.

Sears was also the lone winner in singles, dropping Lauren Burkowitz 6-2, 6-4. All other Mounts lost in straight sets.
