Whippets too quick for Mounts

ImageJunior running back Roshaan McCain scored three touchdowns on run of 10, 2 and 37 yards to help the Whippets defeat visiting Ephrata in non-league play. McCain carried 18 times for 183 yards as Downingtown West (2-2) rused for a total of 311 yards.

Ephrata senior running back Ryan Crowther had two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving), 10 carries for 29 yards and three receptions for 29 yards to lead the Mounts (1-3).

The Mounts offense showed complete control at times maintaining two long drives, each lasting over 7 minutes. But the defense could not seem to corrall the Whippet's speedy backs.

Fast Fun Fact: Mr. Fred Geyer is a Downingtown West Whippet alumni!

Correction: Mr. Fred Geyer, much older than expected, went to school back when Downingtown was only one school, not two. He was actually an Abington Galloping Ghost. Our deepest apologies to Mr. Geyer.
